EUROPEAN HEATWAVE An extended heat wave smashed all-time records in parts of Europe and the heat will persist through the weekend in much of eastern Europe, including Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Serbia east to Romania, Ukraine and Belarus.   WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY DAY It's World Photography Day on 19th August, so we're looking for your best images of the act of photography, ideally with you in them! It could be shots of yourself at work on the ground, clever reflections that puts you in the frame, or images of your favourite equipment or the place you work. Please add the hashtag #WPD and send in at least 3 photos for each submission.  NB: If someone else took a photo of you at work, please include their name so we can credit them.
